Dr. Tal Kochavi

Research Fellow
Dr. Tal Kochavi is an expert in Sociology and Anthropology.  She wrote her doctorate under Professor Zali Gurevitch at the Hebrew Univeristy in Jerusalem in addition her B.A. and M.A. in Sociology and Anthroplogy. Kochavi has worked for a decade to manage the Van Leer Institute’s research group on “constructing collective identity, civil society, and the process of globalizastion in the public sphere”, founded and led by the late Prof. Shmuel Noah Eisenstadt. In 2004 she co-managed another research group which aimed to identify “processes and trends in Israeli society”, and in 2010-2009 led the research group “Anthropology Now”. She is currently the Executive Editor and Director of Publications at the Van Leer Institute.
